Some Important Boating Rules and Regulations on Big Bear Lake

*Maximum boat length is 26 feet.
*Manually propelled boats less than 12 feet must stay inside the 5 mph markers.
*Minimum age to drive a boat more than 15hp is sixteen.
*Ages 12 through 15 may drive if accompanied by someone 18 years or older.
*Maximum lake speed is 35mph. From sunset to 7am, maximum speed is 10mph.
*Children under 12 years old must wear a life vest.
*Personal watercraft, such as jets skis and wave runners, must stay at least 100ft away from other *boats while driving more than 5 mph.
*Waterskiing and wakeboarding is allowed between 7am and sunset.
*All waterskiers and wakeboarders must wear life vests.
